LA CROCE

LA CHIESA e IL CONVENTO della CROCE: Un’altra meta di grande suggestione ed interesse artistico è la chiesa della Croce con l’attiguo Convento. Il complesso sorge sullo strapiombo della cava di S. Bartolomeo. La facciata della chiesa è impreziosita da bellissime decorazioni gotico-chiaramontane che ne fanno un vero gioiello; l’oratorio annesso alla chiesa invece è considerato la costruzione più antica dell’intero complesso. Si tratta di un piccolo vano rettangolare, affrescato su tre lati risalenti alla seconda metà del XV secolo. Per quanto riguarda il convento, edificato nel 1515, ha subito nei secoli diversi rifacimenti, però l’ala più remota è probabilmente quella a strapiombo sulla cava. Quest’anno l’intero complesso della Croce è stato ristrutturato e la sua destinazione d’uso sarà quella di un museo del costume

THE CHURCH AND THE CONVENT OF THE CROSS Another suggestive and interesting art site is the church of the Cross with the adjacent Convent. The compound rises over the steep cliff on Saint Bartholomew’s cave. Precious clearmont-gothic decorations embellish the church façade that make of it a real treasure. The Oratory that flanks the church is considered the oldest of all the buildings in the compound, it consists of a small rectangular room with frescos on three of the walls dating back to the 15^th century. For what regards the convent, it was built in 1515 and it has been remodelled various times since then. This year the entire compound of the Cross has been renovated and it will become a museum of local uses and customs.

L’Eglise et le Couvent de la Croce. Un autre but de visite d’un grand intérêt artistique est représenté par l’église de la Croce et de son couvent qui la jouxte. L’ensemble surplombe la droite du vallon de San Bartolomeo. La façade de l’église est parée de magnifiques ornements de style  gothique catalan qui en font un véritable joyau ; l’oratoire contigu à l’église est par contre la construction la plus ancienne de l’ensemble. Il s’agit d’une petite pièce rectangulaire, avec des fresques sur les trois parois remontant à la moitié du 15^ème siècle. Le couvent, construit en 1515, a subi au cours des siècles différents remaniements ; toutefois l’aile plus ancienne est celle qui domine le vallon. Récemment l’ensemble a été restauré et sera utilisé comme Musée du Costume.
