DONNALUCATA: This village is only 6 kilometres away from Scicli and it is probably the largest and most populated in the area. It is an old fishermen’s town, the inhabitants are mostly fishermen even now a days, and in the area, the old port is still renowned for the fresh fish market. Among the architectural sites the most important are Palazzo Mormino, the Hermitage of the Militia which was built in memory of the battle fought in 1091 between the Arabs and the Normans and last Saint Catherine’s Church which dates back to the last century.
